ST. PETERSBURG, FLORIDA — Viral video making the rounds shows a brazen vegan activist interrupting a family's fishing trip and throwing one of their caught fish back in the water.

The activists, from animal rights group Direct Action Everywhere, can be seen surrounding the family and chanting, "It's not food, it's violence."

Police officers were called to the scene but no arrests were made, reported Florida news outlet 10NewsWTSP. St Petersburg Police said there was no way to proof ownership of the fish.

Activists from the same group were earlier last week sighted at a Florida Chick-Fil-A. There, they dressed as chicken and cows in protest against the "species-ist" sale of poultry on Cow Appreciation Day.
