DETROIT — A tiger got loose during a “ruin porn” photoshoot at the Packard Plant in Detroit on Monday.

The photoshoot was organized by British wildlife photographer David Yarrow. According to the Detroit Free Press, they had a permit to use the location, but they didn’t tell the project manager for the Packard Plant that they were going to be using live animals, including two wolves, a bobcat and the tiger.

John Roach, a spokesman for Detroit Mayor Mike Duggan, told the Detroit Free Press that the Detroit Police Department knew about the animals. The permit was for a two-day shoot, but it was cancelled once authorities realized what was happening. The tiger managed to get free, and amateurs were enlisted to help get it back in the cage.

Andy Didorosi, who recorded his attempts with his friend Tony Barchok to rouse the tiger told the Detroit Free Press: “I got a call from a friend who asked me to help them get this tiger out of a staircase. He asked me if I had a leafblower, and I said I had a weedwhacker, so he told me to bring that ... I stopped what I was doing, grabbed my tools and hopped in my truck, because, you know, tiger.”

“I don't know much about tiger logistics, but we were told to be this huge blue tarp monster with the weedwhacker and try to be scary and make loud noises. That just made him angry. You could say he got tiger rage, so we retreated,” Didorosi added.
