CHONGQING, CHINA — A sidewalk in China's Wulong District suddenly collapsed, injuring two pedestrians as they walked over it.
The incident occurred on the evening of July 27 as a man and woman walked along Furong Middle Road. As they passed, the pavement suddenly and instantaneously gave way without warning, collapsing under their feet.
According to local news, the pair miraculously survived and were rescued by a team of firefighters before being taken to hospital.
The woman suffered injuries to her foot as a result of it being crushed by a stone; the man suffered an injury to his head.
The cause of the collapse is under investigation, however, that hasn't stopped Chinese netizens from having their say with users labeling the incident as a result of poor engineering.
