Defying Death
A Chinese man had his hand fixed to his ankle for a month before doctors successfully reattached it to his arm.
The man, named Xiao Wei (蕭偉), from China's Hunan province, had his right hand severed on November 10 in a work-related accident. Doctors kept the limb alive by grafting it to his left ankle for nearly a month in order to stop the severed hand from dying before undergoing the hand reattachment surgery.
