VILLASECA DE LA SAGRA, SPAIN — A 32-year-old Spanish man has died after being gored while filming the bull run festival at the town of Villaseca de la Sagra early on Sunday.
The man was filming the festival at around 1:30 a.m. when, apparently caught up in act of filming, he failed notice one of the beasts had him right in his crosshairs. The man was gored in the neck and thigh as the animal repeatedly attacked him. His injuries were too severe to survive and he later died in a hospital.
“This sends shivers down our spine ... we organise these events as a tradition, so that people can enjoy them, but these things happen,” the Guardian quoted Jesus Hijosa, the mayor of Villaseca de la Sagra as saying.
Bull runs are a traditional summer festivals across Spain. The man was the fourth death by goring in town festivals so far this year, AP reported.
