Apparently billionaires like to brawl, too. Australian police are investigating a fight that took place on Sunday between casino magnate James Packer and longtime friend, Channel Nine chief executive David Gyngell.
Packer was apparently upset over a Channel Nine van parked near his beachside house, which he assumed was there to film a possible visit from model Miranda Kerr. Turns out, it was just a Channel Nine employee who lived nearby and had taken the van home because he needed it for work early the following day.
Gyngell waited for about 20 minutes outside Packer’s house as the billionaire came directly from his private jet. The two business figures exchanged pleasantries, then they traded blows.
Someone lost a tooth and Packer ended up with a black eye. News Corp is believed to have paid more than $200,000 for photos and video footage, which they were kind enough to watermark.
