HOOVER, ALABAMA — A 2-year-old is the chief suspect in the fatal shooting of his 31-year-old father on at an apartment complex in Hoover, Alabama on Tuesday.
Hoover Police Captain Greg Recotr told AL.com: "Other possible scenarios are being investigated but at this time there does not appear to be an intruder or any third person involved. However, this investigation is still in its very early stages and detectives are not completely ruling out other possibilities."
A female family member notified police when she came home a little after 3 p.m. to find the man unresponsive. Paramedics and police responded and the man was pronounced dead at the scene.
The family's church leader Bishop Theo Bailey said in an interview with WIAT-TV: "I think that the family, as well as the community, should be coming together to pray for this family. This is a young man who has a wife and children and we must embrace them and help them through this difficult time."
