An intruder broke into the facility run by Foster Farms in Caruthers, California sometime on September 20.
The suspect then entered a shed where the birds are kept, pulled out a golf club and commenced to clubbing them. Chickens aren’t known for their speed, and they can’t fly. The poor birds didn’t stand a chance. The suspect didn't stop until around 920 birds were killed. Authorities can’t think of any motive behind this case of mass galluscide.
Fresno detectives along with the Animal Defense Fund are offering a $10,000 reward for information leading to an arrest and prosecution.
