Water Polo Explainer - 2017 Summer Universiade
Water polo is a competitive team sport played in the water - don’t underestimate this sport, matches can get intense! During the game, it’s common for players to push and grab each other. A typical game lasts 65 to 70 minutes, putting the players’ different abilities to the test, such as swimming, passing the ball, tackling, and shooting the ball.
During the game, players must keep swimming or treading water, they cannot touch the bottom or walls of the pool. The rules are similar to a football match. The size of the balls is the same and the two teams are responsible for defending their own goal area. The team that scores the most goals wins the match.
