Watch nut packing an AR-15 in an airport get ‘harassed' by cops

Georgia is one of the only states in the U.S. where it’s legal to carry a loaded weapon in an airport. So all this Atlanta-area man is technically doing, is choosing to exercise his rights.

ATLANTA — A Georgia man claims he’s been harassed by police for doing nothing more than following the law.

Jim Cooley’s attention-seeking tactic is to parade around the busiest airports in the U.S., armed with an AR-15. The act is completely legal thanks to Georgia’s firearm laws, but Cooley has a special affinity for sauntering past police, seemingly daring them to look his way or make a remark about his firearm

The latest video, posted a few days ago, shows Cooley in the midst of schooling yet another Atlanta police officer on the state’s year-old law.

And while city officials have in the past expressed dismay over the fact that citizens are permitted to carry weapons in the open and public areas of the airport. The act is legal provided they do not move into the TSA-controlled secure areas of the airport property armed.
