LONDON, ENGLAND —Australian punk pop band 5 Seconds of Summer had to cancel a concert in London Saturday night after lead guitarist Michael Clifford's hair caught on fire during a live performance.

Michael Clifford, 19, was performing at Wembley Arena when he jumped through some flames and his hair caught on fire, CNN reports.

The London concert included pyrotechnic effects that saw fire shoot from portions of the stage, TMZ reports.

Fans watched in horror as the lead guitarist ran off stage with smoke streaming from his head and a badly burned face.

Clifford quickly retreated to the back of the stage where he put out the flames with a towel, Rolling Stone reports.

MTV reports, drummer Ashton Irwin eventually emerged to tell the crowd that the show was over.

After the concert, Clifford posted a selfie with his face half-covered in bandages on social media writing, "Sorry I couldn't finish the encore, but at least I look like two face. Thanks for worrying every1 x."

Later bassist Calum Hood took to Twitter after the show to tell fans that Michael was recovering, tweeting "he's a trooper and is ok."

On Sunday, the band announced that they would continue with the rest of their world tour as scheduled.
