Thai woman goes out by jumping into a pit with 1,000 crocodiles
A 65-year-old Thai woman committed suicide last week by jumping into a crocodile pit housing over 1,000 crocodiles.
An elderly woman committed suicide by leaping into a crocodile pit at the Samut Prakarn Crocodile Farm & Zoo.
Wanpen Inyai, 65, left her home on Rom Kiao Road in Bangkok’s Min Buri district Friday morning. She wasn’t found until after she had jumped into the pit housing more than 1,000 crocodiles that afternoon.
Police were finally able to identify the deceased on Saturday after Wanpen’s health insurance card was found floating on the surface of the water.
Witnesses saw Inyai intentionally jump into the croc pond and footage from a security camera shows her leaving her shoes on a walkway before jumping.
Sunan Tharmnat, Inyai’s sister, said Inyai had been depressed and had not talked to anyone for several days before her fatal jump.
A picture of Inyai’s body being approached by a crocodile was passed around online over the weekend.
