HOUSTON — What started out as an innocent water gun fight at a family barbeque party in Houston, Texas on Saturday ended with a trip to the hospital for one teenager.
A 15-year-old girl was playing with water guns at a party in a Houston suburb prior to her being shot by an actual bullet. Witnesses say that when an adult male at the party went to his car to get some dry clothes, he took out his handgun and began playing with it. As he was twirling the weapon, the gun suddenly went off.
Two bullets were discharged. One hit the teen in the shoulder, an inch from her neck. The other bullet hit a car parked five houses down the road.
According to Houston's NBC-affiliate KPRC, the girl was taken to a hospital and is currently in stable condition. The gun-twirling man has been charged with deadly conduct.
