Student charged for Da Bomb hot sauce prank gone wrong
Hot sauce prank: A Chicago high school student was charged with juvenile misdemeanor battery for food prank that involved putting Da Bomb hot sauce into the cafeteria’s marinara that was being served with spaghetti for lunch.
The prank impacted several students and staff members, who suffered coughing, wheezing, shortness of breath, and skin rashes. The 17-year-old Highland Park High School student only confessed to the prank after trying a bite of the spaghetti himself and realizing how unbearable the hot sauce was.
Staff removed the marinara sauce from the serving line, and the school plans to intall a security camera to prevent the food from being tampered with in the future. The student was charged as a juvenile on five counts of misdemeanor battery.
