Aww! Animals!
LAKE OZARK, MISSOURI — A skin crawling viral video making the rounds online this weekend turns out to be a well orchestrated hoax.
Let Bruce Branit tell it, after swimming at Lake of the Ozarks last weekend he was horrified to discover a spider in his ear after using his mobile phone to check what he thought was a common ear infection.
While it's true some arthropods consider human ear canals as potential real estate, in this case, the "spider" in question was a chance for Branit to show the world his CGI skills.
'The legs returning back into the ear canal is a touch too smooth for real arachnid motion,' one Youtube viewer wrote.
'The movements are way too smooth to be entirely realistic, a bug in real life would be much quicker, but the look of the model itself is incredibly convincing well done,' said another.
Though the video is a fake, it's definitely enough to make you squirm.
