Malaysian police detained three robbery suspects following a dramatic car chase through Marang last Saturday.
Policemen noticed a suspicious vehicle and asked the driver to pull over at around 4:45 a.m. As the officers approached the car, the suspects sped off, forcing the policemen to jump out of the way to avoid being struck. Officers fired upon the vehicle before jumping back into their patrol car, and engaging in a car chase that lasted 3 kilometers before the suspects were apprehended.
Officers found a parang, a gollock and and a steel cutter inside the vehicle. Neither the policemen nor the 30-year-old driver of the vehicle were hurt, but a 48-year-old suspect was injured in his right hip, and the other 36-year-old suspect was injured in the knee.
