NEW YORK — The NYPD Animal Cruelty Investigation Squad is looking into a bloody incident that occurred earlier this week involving a possible dog-fighting ring.
The attack occurred in an unidentified man's Brooklyn home at around 8:50 a.m. on Wednesday. Not much has been revealed about the man or the incident itself, although there has been some speculation that animal cruelty is involved.
According to the New York Daily News, one of the man's pit bulls allegedly went "berserk" and proceeded to attack his owner. Police said the man nearly had his arm ripped off by the dog, to the point that the bone was exposed, reported the New York Post.
All of the dogs are now in safe hands after police took them to an animal care facility in Brooklyn. Their owner is now reportedly in stable condition at the hospital.
