At least four people were killed and six injured on Monday evening when part of a six-story residential building collapsed in central Mumbai, according to an AFP report.
The apartment building, located in Mumbai's Mahim district, contained at least 16 apartments and housed a Maruti Suzuki showroom on the ground floor.
Two days of heavy monsoon rains preceded the collapse of one wing of the 40-year-old building. The other half remained standing.
Seven to eight people, mostly children and senior citizens, remain trapped in the rubble.
The accident follows the collapse of a seven-story building along Mumbai's outskirts that killed 74 people in early April.
