STAMFORD, CONNECTICUT — World Wrestling Entertainment Inc. has cut all ties with Hulk Hogan after he was caught dropping a whole arsenal of N-bombs in a conversation caught on a sex tape.
WWE deleted most references to the Hulkamania star on its website and released a statement on Friday saying it had terminated its contract with Hogan.
WWE did not give a reason, but said in its statement it is “committed to embracing and celebrating individuals from all backgrounds as demonstrated by the diversity of our employees, performers and fans worldwide.”
On Friday, both RadarOnline.com and The National Enquirer had reports that Hogan dropped the N-word in a conversation caught on a sex video that is the subject of a lawsuit Hogan is filing against Gawker.
In the transcripts reportedly transcribed from the infamous Hogan sex tape, Hogan talks about his daughter’s business and personal relationships with a black billionaire and drops quite a few n-bombs preceded by the word “f**king”.
Hogan apologized for using “offensive language” in the conversation eight years ago in a statement.
“It was unacceptable for me to have used that offensive language; there is no excuse for it; and I apologize for having done it,” the 61-year-old said.
