Police are searching for a dark pickup truck with damage to it’s front left side believed to be involved in a hit-and-run crash that left one man dead and seven others injured.
The accident happened at around 8:25 p.m. on Thursday at the base of the Sagamore Bridge in Bourne, Massachusetts. According to police reports, a dark colored pickup truck was merging onto Route 6 eastbound, headed towards the Sagamore Bridge, when the suspect driving the truck collided with the right front of the 2004 GMC Sierra.
Michael Furlong, 43, of Sandwich, was one of the crash victims and the driver of the Sierra. The impact from the other truck sent Furlong over the median and into the westbound lanes. His Sierra collided, head-on, into a 2012 Chrysler Town & Country minivan carrying three adults and three juveniles.
Furlong was ejected from his car, and the driver of minivan was killed. The rest of the individuals involved were taken to local hospitals with non-life-threatening injuries.
According to Cape and Islands District Attorney, Michael O’Keefe, the man who was fatally injured was identified as Amanon Bogomolsky. Bogomolsky was visiting the states from Israel for a bar mitzvah of one of the passengers. Bogomolsky’s 12-year-old son was also in the car with him and is expected to survive.
