NSFW    NEW YORK — Speculation about Hillary Clinton’s health went into overdrive after she collapsed in New York on Sunday.

The 68-year-old Democratic presidential candidate fell ill at a 9/11 memorial, appearing to go into freefall as she left the service in Manhattan.

Clinton’s knees buckled underneath her as she waited by the road to get into her vehicle.

Luckily, members of her team were able to grab her by the arms and prevent her from face-planting on the sidewalk.

Doctors diagnosed Clinton with so-called “walking pneumonia” on Friday, Reuters reported.

According to the doctors, Hillary became overheated and dehydrated, and collapsing like that is normal for someone in her condition.

Trump supporters and the cynics among us aren’t necessarily buying that explanation, however. Rumors about Hillary’s health have persisted for some time, and Sunday’s incident will only add fuel to the fire.

At 68, Clinton is not getting any younger, and the thought of a sick president won’t sit well with many voters.

But the sight of Hillary almost face-planting will encourage her enemies, who have so far refrained from commenting on the incident.

Clinton’s allies were keen to play up her resilient side on Monday, emphasising how hard she has been working despite being sick.

Hillary emerged from daughter Chelsea’s Manhattan home just two hours after she collapsed.

Clinton told reporters she was “feeling great,” but that didn’t stop her from canceling a trip to California for campaign and fundraising events.

With just two months until election day and with Donald Trump closing the gap in the polls, Clinton couldn’t have picked a worse time to show weakness.

Questions about her health will only persist as the race for the White House starts to look far closer than any of us could have imagined.
