EDINBURGH, SCOTLAND — High school French teacher Isabelle Graham was this week banned from teaching after a teachers’ panel found she had shagged a 17-year-old student.
According to the the Scottish Daily Record, the alleged romp took place two years ago on Whitburn Academy’s prom night in a Edinburgh Travelodge Hotel on the city’s upmarket Waterloo Place. Both were reportedly drinking booze at the time.
The 28-year-old says her drink was spiked, but the panel dismissed claims of this, saying there was no evidence from hospital tests. CCTV footage from the night allegedly shows the French teacher giving the boy a French lesson to remember.
Scotland’s age of consent is 16, but the cops charged her with having sex with a minor in her care while in a position of trust. However, the criminal case against her was thrown out of court, with a judge citing lack of evidence.
The shagging reportedly took place when the two were alone in a Travelodge hotel room for a whole three hours.
That didn’t stop a General Teaching for Scotland Council disciplinary panel coming after her. The GTSC is Scotland’s top authority on teachers.
A photo was shown at the hearing and was also widely shared on social media.
According to reports, it appears to show Graham in a hotel bed and a pupil in the doorway holding a bottle of what looks to be champagne.
In her defense Graham said to the panel via a written statement that she was the victim, describing herself a devout Christian who had been saving herself for that special someone until marriage.
The disciplinary panel didn’t believe her version of events and decided to ban her from teaching in Scotland.
Graham reportedly now lives abroad with her husband, whom she recently married.
