What the Foul?
LAVON LAKE, TEXAS — The body of a former NFL player who went missing over the weekend was recovered from Lavon Lake in Texas on Monday.
Thirty-seven-year-old JaJuan Dawson's body was found at around 11:35 p.m. after rescue teams searched for him using sonar equipment.
Dawson was with his wife, another adult and three children on a rented boat when he fell into the water on Sunday at around 6.30p.m.
Family members told local media he was not wearing a life jacket and might not have known how to swim, Reuters reported.
They added he never resurfaced after falling overboard, NBC News reported.
Alcohol is not believed to be the cause of the drowning.
Dawson played wide receiver with the Cleveland Browns, the Houston Texans and the Indianapolis Colts.
During his four seasons in the National Football League, he had 52 receptions for 664 yards and two touchdowns, Reuters reported.
