Dubai to build new 550-meter tall tower
The Burj Jumeirah is set to be 550 meters tall.
DUBAI — Dubai will begin the construction of a 550-meter tower, reports the Khaleej Times.
Dubai has introduced The Burj Jumeirah as the newest addition to its iconic skyline.
According to Khaleej Times, Vice President and Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, has unveiled plans to build a new tower in the Al Sufouh neighborhood of Dubai.
The new building is called, 'The Burj Jumeirah' it will be developed by Dubai Holding, which also created the famous Burj Al Arab hotel.
The Burj Jumeirah is set to be 550 meters tall. The building is shaped like an oval split in two halves. It will be equipped with multiple observation decks and activity centers. The area surrounding the base of the tower will be developed into a commercial zone.
The tower will mainly feature houses, hotels and office spaces. Construction will begin immediately with the first phase set to be finished by 2023.
The Burj Jumeirah is part of the Downtown Jumeirah project, which includes the development of the area surrounding the new tower.
