Dog stays behind to protect baby goats from wildfire

His owner reckons that he managed to ferry the goats to a rocky area near the home. The dog, named Odin, suffered heat damage to his fur, which turned orange, and some burns to his paws. Meanwhile, much of his humans' farm was damaged in the fire.

WINE COUNTRY, CALIFORNIA — A hero farm dog called Odin stayed behind to protect his herd of baby goats during a raging blaze in Cali this week.

His owners tried to get him to leave, but Odin wouldn't budge, so they left him behind.

They returned days later fearing the worst, but to their surprise Odin was alive, albeit a burned, as was the herd of baby goats.
