NSFW    CALIFORNIA — Donald Trump’s stunning election victory last week left some California residents so distraught that they are considering leaving the United States to form their own republic.

The Twittersphere exploded with #Calexit as people tweeted out the hashtag to call for California to secede following Trump’s win, according to the San Francisco Chronicle.

The group Yes California seeks to place a referendum on the statewide 2019 ballot asking voters if Cali should leave the union.

Hyperloop One co-founder Shervin Pishevar even said he would help pay for the campaign.

One massive problem for the Caleavefornia movement is that no legal framework exists for states to secede, so it would require a constitutional amendment. The amendment would then have to be ratified by three-fourths of state legislatures.

Basically, it’s next to impossible. So why even waste time on it? What Californians should do is take advantage of the fact that recreational marijuana is now legal.
