An aid worker was killed and three others wounded on Thursday, when a grenade hit their office in the biggest city of Sudan's Darfur region, according to a Reuters report. The incident occurred during a resumption of fighting between government troops and paramilitary forces in the city centre of Nyala. There were reports of a number of lootings amidst the clashes.
The gunfight took place in an area home to the offices of many international humanitarian organizations. During the gunfight, a rocket-propelled grenade hit the office of an undisclosed international organization. The blast killed a Sudanese staff member and injured three other aid workers.
In a separate incident, three Nigerian peacekeepers were wounded after they were ambushed by unknown assailants on their way to Nyala on Wednesday.
