A Texas mom is being held in jail after she drove drunk with six children riding on top of her car, and four flew off as she made a sharp turn.
Thirty-eight year old Kisha Young and her friend were at the Creekside Community Pool in Crowley, Texas, south of Fort Worth, with their six children.
When they got to the car, the kids were still wet from the pool, so Young reportedly “allowed” them to ride on the trunk and hood.
On the way home, Young took a turn too quickly and four of the children flew off the back of the car and into the road.
It wasn’t until Young had driven a block further down the road that she realized what had happened.
She turned around and drove back to the scene in a panic. Passersby had stopped to help and to stop three of the children from trying to lift one of the girls who was unconscious.
The girl, aged 12, suffered severe head injuries and a medical helicopter was dispatched to pick her up. The other three also suffered serious injuries and were taken to hospital.
Young was arrested and charged with Intoxication Assault, a third degree felony, and she remains in jail with no bond set. Additional charges are pending for both adults and Child Protective Services is expected to investigate.
