ROMULUS, MICHIGAN — Law enforcement in Michigan have issued a felony warrant against this man, Javon Pherras Stacks, for alleged animal cruelty, abandonment and neglect following a police raid that seized over 500 animals from a "bootleg zoo" at a Romulus storefront.
According to the Romulus Police Department, officials found a ton of animals including rabbits, iguanas, a peacock, a python, kangaroos and hedgehogs at the fake zoo two months ago. They were tipped off by a concerned resident who helped officials locate the animals.
After seizing the animals, the police conducted a thorough investigation and have now issued a felony warrant for the 36-year-old.
The police said all the animals were given to experts who can take care of them properly.
In a Facebook post, officials told the public to contact the police department if anyone knows where Stacks is, or encourage him to turn himself in.
