WASHINGTON, D.C. — The Democratic National Committee is disciplining the presidential campaign of Bernie Sanders for improperly accessing confidential voter information collected by Hillary Clinton's campaign.
The D.N.C. blamed the tech company NGP VAN for a software glitch that gave users of their system access to confidential data of all Democratic campaigns.
Sanders campaign spokesperson, Michael Briggs, admitted to the D.N.C. that four of their staffers accessed Mrs. Clinton's data – three of them at the direction of their boss, Josh Uretsky, who was immediately fired.
The D.N.C responded by suspending the Vermont senator's campaign from accessing the party's database of Democratic voters. The suspension comes just one day after Sanders gained the endorsement of the Communications Workers Union and one day before the third Democratic debate on Saturday.
The underdog may not give a damn about Clinton's emails, but it'll be interesting to see if Clinton takes a jab at her opponent for peeking around her database.
