Police are looking for two suspects in a home invasion and assault in Gadsden after a Monday night robbery ended in the death of a third suspect.

Gadsden police say a 37-year-old woman was raped by an armed attacked who then demanded money.

Three people kicked in her door on a Norris Avenue home around 3 a.m., according to Gadsden Police.

Gadsden Police Captain Bobby Jackson said the victim told them that two male suspects ransacked her place while a third put a gun to her head and raped her.

The woman then told police that the two other suspects left, but the third stayed behind and hit her in the head with his gun and demanded money. She then told him she kept her money with her neighbor, so by gunpoint he made the woman go the his home.

When the two got to the neighbor's residence, the 59-year-old man called 911 and armed himself. That's when the suspect fired two shots in the air and then pointed his gun at the neighbor.

The neighbor responded by fatally shooting the 17-year-old suspect in the chest.

The neighbor who fired that shot was questioned and released. The woman was taken to the hospital.

Gadsden Police are looking for anyone with additional information about the case.
