‘Spartacus' the canine survives battle wounds and get 1,000 stitches

A brave pit bull mix who was sliced gruesomely in South LA is recovering after the poor canine had to have 1,000 stitches in order to survive.

A pit bull is recovering from surgery on Sunday, after being stabbed several times during a disturbing attack outside his owner’s South L.A. home.

Reports of a dog being stabbed near 10th Avenue and West Florence Avenue
were made to police around 4 a.m. early Saturday morning.

Spartacus, the pit bull mix was rushed to Pet Care Clinic where surgeons spent two hours and 1,000 stitches to save the two year old’s life.

Police are still on the hunt for the suspect, the pet owner's family suspects its may have been one of their neighbors who does not like his dog’s breed.
